Molly Younger is a Melbourne-based designer and artist. She launched her eponymous label in 2018 with a collection of handmade luggage and accessories. Using methods that mix sculpture and fashion, she casts each object in natural latex on a plaster mould resulting in unique pieces that retain shadows of their sculptural origin. The end result is durable, wearable and waterproof. No two are identical.
In 2019 she released Collection #1 of Multiple Meanings, a collaboration with Martha Poggioli. This collection asks the question: how might we imagine clothing in a world without needle and thread? Each garment is constructed with a specifically developed latex bonding technique, bypassing the need to sew.
Molly’s practice now extends into lighting and interior accessories, continually exploring the technique of casting and the material of natural latex.
