The JPALM ideology stems from growing up immersed in punk culture. These critical thinking and DIY aspects of the culture were formative from both attention to embellishments and styling to politics.
Living in New York City, Julia worked for Eckhaus Latte doing pattern making, sampling, model fittings, and backstage at NYFW. It was there, crammed in a basement studio, that the dream for JPALM felt real. Also while living in NYC, Julia held positions at a luxury men's suiting brand which provided insight into the fabric, fit one on one service, and production/manufacturing.
By utilising smallness as an advantage to e nimble, JPLALM adapts tools from overseas brands to make small drops, more often and not abiding by a seasonal fashion cycle.
